Sonochemistry

Sonochemistry is the application of sound waves in chemical reactions and processes. Extreme Acoustic Cavitation™ produces extreme conditions within the super-concentrated bubble core, as well as in the area surrounding the bubble. These exterior effects can include microturbulence, shear forces, jet formations, and shock waves that enhance or intensify physical, chemical, or biological processes.

Impulse has demonstrated an ability to consistently drive acoustic cavitation in various liquid media under a wide range of static pressures using very low power inputs. This expertise gives Impulse scientists and engineers remarkable flexibility when optimizing numerous industrial processes, including:

  • Pharmaceutical production
  • Crystallization
  • Polymerization
  • Nanoparticle synthesis
  • Emulsification
  • Homogenization
  • Waste water treatment
  • Renewable energy production
